The European project\u00a0E-STEAM\u00a0<\/strong>for the promotion of STEM studies (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) among women, has met in Castell\u00f3n for its 3rd Transnational Meeting. The Universitat Jaume I-Company Foundation<\/strong> hosted the meeting, which was attended by the consortium partners: the Agrupamento de Escolas de Silves from Portugal; First Private School Leonardo da Vinci Ltd of Bulgaria; Dimitrie Cantemir University and Fundatia Professional, from Romania and the Institute of Entrepreneurship Development IED from Greece, who traveled to Castell\u00f3n on September 25 and 26 to attend this meeting and monitor the progress of the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pilar Safont,\u00a0<\/strong>Vice-rector for Linguistic Promotion and Equality of the Universitat Jaume I and the Manager of the FUE-UJI,\u00a0Gloria Serra<\/strong>, received the project partners\u00a0E-STEAM<\/strong>\u00a0and they thanked the entire group for their work, stating that it is a more than necessary project. \u201cIt is our responsibility, as educational institutions, to make knowledge and science attractive to women,\u201d remarked the Vice-Rector for Linguistic Promotion and Equality of the UJI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This welcome was followed by numerous work sessions to outline the work already done and propose the steps the project should take, in what will be its second year of implementation. The mentoring program for girls and young students, the online training platform for teachers and the dissemination of the results of the project have been the topics addressed during the sessions, since these are the points that will focus the work of the coming months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The FUE-UJI,<\/strong> As the host organization of the meeting, it took the opportunity to present some of the actions that are being carried out in matters of gender and STEM studies in Castell\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the course of the conference, it is worth highlighting the presentation at the European level of the UJI-Lamarr Equality Framework Program, <\/strong>designed to create scientific vocations and promote both innovation and entrepreneurship among women. Pilar Safont, <\/strong>Vice-rector for Linguistic Promotion and Equality, was in charge of presenting the program, which she considers an indispensable tool to "make visible all the women engineers, scientists and researchers we have." UJI-Lamarr<\/strong> The visualization of the innovation of teachers and researchers, STEM training and collaboration with the business sector will work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the examples of a successful woman in the STEM area is Susana Perez<\/strong>, project manager for Assurance of Maintenance Technical Competencies at BP and mentor of the European project E-STEAM<\/strong>, who shared with all attendees her professional and personal experience and her experiences as a woman engineer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Responsable of Robotme,<\/strong> initiative focused on educational robotics, they presented this project to the E-STEAM partners, which has extensive experience organizing workshops and promoting robotics among girls from a very early age.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a culmination of this third transnational meeting, attendees traveled to the Vall d'Uix\u00f3 to discover part of the attractiveness of the province.
