The FUE-UJI, through its European and International Projects Office (EuroFUE-UJI<\/strong><\/a>) has gathered its Trustees this Wednesday, October 21, on the occasion of the first session of the Working Breakfasts Europe 2027<\/strong><\/a>, with the European program\u00a0Innovation Fund<\/em>\u00a0<\/strong>as protagonist. On this occasion, the guest as an expert in the session has been\u00a0Ignacio \u00c1ngel S\u00e1nchez Garc\u00eda<\/strong>, Deputy Director General of Carbon Markets of the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge.<\/p>\n

Joan Antoni Martin<\/strong>, vice-rector for Internationalization and Cooperation of the Universitat Jaume I of Castell\u00f3, was in charge of opening the session: \u201cThis program responds to the desire to turn Europe and its financing programs into the perfect ally to work on sustainability within the framework of companies.\u201d<\/em> Next, Carlos Cabrera<\/strong>, executive president of the\u00a0Universitat Jaume I-Empresa Foundation (FUE-UJI)<\/strong>, has highlighted the importance of this European program Innovation Fund<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0for the ceramic cluster.\u00a0\u201cThis is an excellent opportunity to increase the competitiveness of European companies seeking to lead the change towards the green economy.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

The program\u00a0Innovation Fund<\/em><\/strong> supports the demonstration of low-carbon technologies and processes in energy-intensive industries, the capture, utilization and storage of carbon dioxide under environmentally safe conditions, innovative renewable energy and energy storage technologies. This is how it has been transmitted Sanchez Garcia<\/strong>, who has highlighted that this program finances sufficiently mature projects with high innovation potential<\/strong>.\u00a0\u201cInnovation Fund finances innovative processes that reduce greenhouse gas emissions, including new technologies, processes and products.\u201d \u201cClusters between companies will be positively valued, taking into account the industrial characteristics of the region,\u201d <\/em>has added.<\/p>\n

Among the sectors targeted by the program\u00a0Innovation Fund<\/em><\/strong>, it is worth highlighting the facilities for the manufacture of ceramic products by firing, in particular tiles, bricks, refractory bricks, tiles, ceramic stoneware or porcelain, as well as any sector intensive in energy consumption. For this reason, this session has aroused special interest in Patrons of the FUE-UJI<\/strong>, which focus their activity on this sector, since they are an important part taking into account that approximately 94% of production ceramics<\/strong> Spanish has its origin in the province of Castell\u00f3n, where 80% of the companies in the sector are located.<\/p>\n
