The FUE-UJI has received the approval from the European Commission of the new Erasmus + project Start up for Development<\/strong>, which will focus on the concept of \u201csmart cities\u201d<\/strong> <\/em>under the acronym START UP. The project, which will train experts in smart solutions to promote \u201csmart cities\u201d in small municipalities, has a consortium made up of 5 international partners coordinated by the FUE-UJI.<\/p>\n

The European START UP<\/strong> project, financed under the Erasmus + program under the modality \u201cStrategic Partnerships for Adult Education\u201d, will be implemented for 28 months by the EuroFUE-UJI<\/a>. During this time, a training program for adults on \u201csmart cities\u201d<\/strong><\/em> will be created and implemented, especially aimed at small municipalities in order to create the recognized smart cities in the countries that make up the consortium.<\/p>\n

\nIn addition to having the FUE-UJI as coordinator, the START UP<\/strong> consortium is made up of four more entities from different countries: the private training and tourism institution Kocat\u00fcrk Danismanlik (Turkey), the ARID Association (Poland), the Regional Development Agency and business support center for small and medium-sized enterprises (Bulgaria) and the non-profit Society for Alternative Innovative Development (Greece).<\/p>\n

With this consortium, the Start up for Development<\/strong> project bases its implementation on the premise that small municipalities are alien to the concept of smart cities, since they cannot afford to have experts in \u201csmart cities\u201d<\/strong><\/em> among their technicians. Therefore, the objective of the project is to prepare a course for trainers who will be able to give municipalities a clear and complete explanation of what smart cities would be, so that they can implement concrete actions aimed at turning these small municipalities into smart towns.<\/p>\n
