The FUE-UJI, through its European and International Projects Office (EuroFUE-UJI), has presented to its Trustees, this\u00a0Wednesday February 17,\u00a0<\/strong>the news of the new research and innovation framework program of the European Union\u00a0Horizon Europe,<\/strong>\u00a0within the framework of the Working Breakfasts Europe 2027<\/a>, in collaboration with\u00a0Caixalmassora.<\/strong>\u00a0This online session has had the participation as an expert of\u00a0Javier Garc\u00eda,<\/strong>\u00a0head of the Industrial Leadership department, Directorate of EU Programs and Cooperation of the Center for Industrial Technological Development (CDTI).<\/p>\n

The Breakfast has been inaugurated by\u00a0Jesus Lancis,<\/strong> vice-rector for Research and Transfer of the Universitat Jaume I (UJI), who highlighted: \u201cThe Horizon Europe program is a unique opportunity to encourage research and innovation.\u201d After the inauguration, Carlos Cabrera<\/strong>, executive president of the Universitat Jaume I-Empresa Foundation (FUE-UJI), has presented the main innovation mechanisms of the European Union, placing special emphasis on that \u201cit is essential that the innovative ecosystem of the province of Castell\u00f3n increases its participation in the new HORIZON EUROPE program, focusing on the promotion, communication and training of the main recipients of the framework program.\u201d<\/p>\n

Within the framework of the new budgets of the European Commission for the period 2021-2027, the new Research and Innovation Framework Programme, Horizon Europe<\/a>, has a budget of almost 100,000 million euros. These funds are structured based on the three fundamental pillars of the program, which are Open Science, Global Challenges and Industrial Competitiveness and Open Innovation.\u00a0Javier Garc\u00eda,<\/strong>\u00a0Head of the Department of Industrial Leadership, Directorate of EU Programs and Cooperation of the CDTI, has highlighted the novelties of this new framework program, among them: less prescriptive topics, equality plans as an eligibility criterion for public entities and the need to present along with the proposal of a draft dissemination plan. Furthermore, Garc\u00eda has also highlighted as a novelty that "the European Commission wants to facilitate synergies between the different funds of the European Union."<\/p>\n

Next,\u00a0Gloria Serra<\/strong>, manager of the FUE-UJI, moderated the colloquium in which attendees raised their doubts, concerns and reflections on the Horizon Europe program.<\/p>\n

To end,\u00a0Jesus Lancis,<\/strong>\u00a0Vice-rector for Research and Transfer of the UJI closed the day by highlighting the importance of this event for the search for synergies and encouraging participation in the Horizon Europe research and innovation program.<\/p>\n
