The FUE-UJI<\/a>, through its European and International Projects Office (EuroFUE-UJI<\/a>), in collaboration with Caixalmassora<\/strong>, has brought together its Trustees this Wednesday, March 17 in a new session of the Working Breakfasts Europe 2027<\/a>, on this occasion dedicated to the European Funds for the period 2021-2027<\/strong>. The day included guest expert Andreu Iranzo Navarro<\/strong>, general director of European Funds of the Generalitat Valenciana. Joan Antoni Martin<\/strong>, vice-rector for Internationalization and Cooperation of the Universitat Jaume I, was in charge of opening the meeting.<\/p>\n

Carlos Cabrera<\/strong>, executive president of the Universitat Jaume I-Empresa Foundation, presented a few brief lines on the Cohesion Policy of the European Union, which is committed to "a smarter, greener and carbon-free Europe, more connected, more social and closer to the citizens".<\/p>\n

This session of the Europe 2027 Work Breakfasts has allowed the entities and companies of the FUE-UJI Board of Trustees to learn about the European Funds for the period 2021-2027, which was agreed by the European Union on July 21, 2020 and where approved a budget allocation of more than 1.82 billion euros<\/strong>. This set of measures, which brings together the multiannual financial framework (more than 1.07 trillion euros) and extraordinary recovery measures within the framework of the instrument called NEXT GENERATION EU<\/strong> (750 billion euros), will contribute to the reconstruction of the EU after the COVID-19 pandemic and will support investment in the green and digital transitions.<\/p>\n

Andreu Iranzo<\/strong>, general director of European Funds of the Generalitat Valenciana, has indicated that "the 8% of the ERDF has to be allocated to sustainable urban development, therefore, city councils will be able to have access to these funds." Iranzo has highlighted the simplification of these funds for the submission of applications and the imminent launch of the European Funds 2021-2027, for which he recommends preparing through regular consultation of European information channels and networking with the European entities.<\/p>\n

Next, Gloria Serra<\/strong>, manager of the FUE-UJI, moderated the colloquium in which attendees raised their doubts and reflections on the opportunities offered by European funds in the short-term future.<\/p>\n

The vice-rector of Internationalization and Cooperation of the UJI, Joan Antoni Martin<\/strong>, who also closed this day, assured that "European Funds always constitute an excellent opportunity to combat the uncertainty of the situation we currently find ourselves in, which is why knowing and knowing how they work is essential," he highlighted.<\/p>\n

The cycle Working Breakfasts Europe 2027<\/a> will continue next April, the 21st<\/strong> introducing cases of European Good Practices.<\/p>\n
