I Vigilancer Conference – Keys to the future for the ceramic sector

Last Thursday, November 23rd, we attended the 1st Conference Vigilancer at the Provincial Palace of the Castelló Provincial Council. The key issues for the future of the ceramics sector were discussed: innovation, market strategy, R&D, branding, business, technology, and marketing.

Vicente Lázaro, Head of the Competitive Intelligence Unit at ITC (www.itc.uji.es) presented the Competitive Intelligence platform for the Ceramics Sector. Sabrina Veral, head of the ITC Market Observatory, then gave us a broad overview of this sector before, during, and after the economic crisis. Joaquín Andrés, Commercial Director and Head of the Internationalization Area of the Chamber of Commerce of Castellón, presented new market opportunities through sector-specific competitor monitoring. After a short break, we resumed the day with Lucas García, Partner and Founder of Socialmood. His talk focused on the present and future of Digital Marketing applied to the ceramics sector; he offered several very interesting insights into online business management.

Next, Fernando Llano, manager of Improven He explained how the ceramic sector can leverage the brand strategy. Finally, Antoni Flores, Founding Partner and President of Loop Unique Companies, closed the session by discussing innovation in the ceramic sector, specifically the new expectations for products and services.

It was a very comprehensive day attended by many industry professionals, and we were able to gain a broad view of how ceramics companies have reinvented themselves to survive, based on innovation.
