The European Ecoblue Tourism project on entrepreneurship in blue ecotourism held an online meeting among all its partners on Tuesday, June 16. This project funded by the European Commission under the Erasmus+ program has a consortium made up of 7 partners from Greece, Spain, Cyprus, Turkey, Italy and Malta, coordinated by the Universitat Jaume I-Empresa Foundation (FUE-UJI).
The consortium planned to meet in Malta throughout the month of May for the second transnational meeting between Ecoblue Tourism partners. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation, this meeting has been postponed to ensure its celebration under the necessary security measures. Meanwhile, the consortium has decided to take advantage of the opportunities provided by new digital technologies to hold a meeting between all partners online.
The objective of this online meeting is to allow partners to remain in contact and strengthen consortium ties, as well as outline the work details of the coming months and evaluate the content prepared to date. The meeting included representatives from the University of Patras (Greece), Dorea Educational Institute WTF (Cyprus), Training 2000 psc (Italy), the Kemer Public Education Center (Turkey), the Future Focus Ltd Higher Education Center ( Malta), the Association of Galician Entrepreneurs in Aragon and Riberas del Ebro, AEGARE, (Spain) and the European and International Projects Office of the FUE-UJI, the EuroFUE-UJI (Spain).
The Erasmus+ Ecoblue Tourism project has focused its work in its first months on the study and analysis of the blue ecotourism sector and the state of entrepreneurship in it. To do this, it has used in-depth interviews with professionals in the sector, questionnaires and analysis of success stories and good practices in entrepreneurship in blue ecotourism.
During the coming months, the partners will develop the training content of the entrepreneurship course in blue and ecological tourism that the Ecoblue Tourism project will make available to the most ambitious young people in the countries of all its partners. At its next transnational meeting in Malta, organized by Future Focus, the content developed for this training course will be evaluated to proceed with the development of the mobile application that will allow participants to train in blue ecotourism entrepreneurship.
