The project FUNICE, in which the FUE-UJI participates as a partner, it has been one of the projects approved by the European Commission within the framework of the Erasmus+ program in the “Strategic Partnerships for vocational and educational training” modality. This project will be coordinated by the International Rural Development Association du Bas Segala of France.
FUNICE, whose objective is to reduce the gap between research and farmers with the aim of improving their training in organic agriculture, has 6 other international partners, in addition to its coordinator. The partner organizations of the project are the Universitat Jaume I-Empresa Foundation (Spain), Growth Coop (Spain), the municipality of Karesi (Turkey), the University of Balikesir (Turkey), the ARID Association (Poland) and the Plant Breeding Institute and Grodkowice Acclimatization (Poland).
All associations that make up the consortium will work hand in hand over the next two years to train agricultural professionals in sustainability and the use of organic components for production. They will also be trained in reducing the use of fertilizers and pesticides.
