The UJI is committed to European financing of the Erasmus+ program

The Jaume I University of Castelló has celebrated the Erasmus+ Virtual Conference Key Action KA2: Cooperation between organizations and institutions, promoted by the Vice-Rector for Internationalization and Cooperation with the support of the Universitat Jaume I-Company Foundation (FUE-UJI) and the collaboration of SEPIE, the national agency for the management, dissemination and promotion of the Erasmus+ program of the European Union in the field of education and training.

The session was opened by Joan Antoni Martin, vice-rector of Internationalization and Cooperation of the UJI, who highlighted the different actions of the program presented in the session. Alfonso Gentil, director of SEPIE, also spoke during the inauguration and highlighted the success of participation in the previous edition of the program: «Thanks to institutions like the UJI, interest in Erasmus+ is the highest, with 58 million euros and 346 cooperation projects financed in 2021».

The introduction to the Erasmus+ program for the period 2021-2027 has been carried out by Andrew Ajo, director of the School and Adult Education Unit of SEPIE, who reminded the attendees that "from various institutions we can work on innovation in the sectors of school education, vocational training, higher education and personal education." adults.

Next, Sara Martínez Navarro, head of service of the SEPIE School and Adult Education Unit, has presented the call for the partnership program for cooperation, within the framework of the KA2 action in Erasmus+ 2021-2027. In his presentation, Martínez highlighted the objectives, priorities, expected results, financing of the call and also gave the attendees advice for preparing a successful proposal.

The call “Erasmus Mundus design measures” has also been presented at the conference by Loreta Paulauskaite, contact point for the Erasmus+ International Dimension of SEPIE. Next, Ilija Vukov, Senior EU Funding Consultant and CEO of EMKICE Consulting, has presented all the information about the next Erasmus+ Alliances for Innovation call.

In addition, three projects currently in force at the UJI have been presented that constitute success stories: H2OMap, coordinated by the FACSA Chair of Innovation in the Integral Water Cycle and presented by its coordinator Laura Menendez; the project CE-IP, coordinated by the SOGRES-UJI research group and presented by the UJI professor Maria Jesus Muñoz; and the project SenGuide, hand in hand with Pilar Escuder, coordinator of the Universitat per a Majors of the UJI.

Eva Camacho, deputy vice-rector for Internationalization and Cooperation of the UJI, moderated the day and presented the conclusions, in which she highlighted that "the Erasmus+ program for the period 2021-27 is a great commitment by the European Commission and has a very important for innovation and training.

The Erasmus+ Day has also had the participation of entities, associations, administrations and companies that wish to obtain European funding. He has addressed all of them Joan Antoni Martin, vice-rector for Internationalization and Cooperation of the UJI, during the closing, encouraging them to participate in the next calls for this program.

After the conference, the UJI research groups that have requested it met with European funding experts from the FUE-UJI to work on potential project proposals for the next Erasmus+ call, all in order to encourage their participation in this program, as well as giving them the necessary tools to present proposals with the greatest guarantees of success.
