Ecoblue tourism, the new European project approved in search of an ecological tourism alternative

The FUE-UJI has received the approval by the European Commission to start working on its new Erasmus+ project, Ecoblue Tourism. Under this acronym, the consortium formed by 7 international partners coordinated by the FUE-UJI aims to promote ecological tourism by increasing the opportunities for entrepreneurship in blue ecotourism in coastal countries.

The European Ecoblue Tourism project is part of the program Erasmus+, in the “Strategic Associations for Adult Education” modality. It will last two years, in which an innovative training methodology will be implemented to improve the youth business skills long-term unemployed who want to develop businesses in the blue ecotourism sector.

In addition to having the FUE-UJI as coordinator, the consortium of this project is made up of seven entities from different countries: University of Patras Panepistimio Patron (Greece), Dorea Educational Institute WTF (Cyprus), Training 2000 psc (Italy), Kemer Mudurlugu Public Education Center (Turkey), Center for Higher Education Future Focus Ltd (Malta) and the Association of Galician Businessmen in Aragon and Riberas del Ebro (Spain).

The blue economy represents 5.4 million jobs in Europe and a gross added value of almost 500,000 million euros per year. One of the sectors with the greatest possibilities within the blue economy is the maritime tourism, an important source of entrepreneurship as well.

For this reason, Ecoblue tourism aims to increase entrepreneurship opportunities in blue ecotourism in coastal countries. To achieve this objective, the project will implement a training course in training centers and organizations and will develop its own content on this subject to provide more information and opportunities to both users interested in developing their own ideas and businesses in this sector, as well as to their trainers.
