The BioHorizon SC2 and KET-B Brokerage Event hosts the EuroFUE-UJI in Brussels

EuroFUE-UJI travels to Brussels for the second time during the month of June to attend the BioHorizon Societal Challenge 2 and KET-B Brokerage Event. The Societal Challenge 2 is an information day about Horizon 2020, while the KET-B Brokerage Event focused on meeting potential partner organizations for a possible partnership. consortium.

The Societal Challenge 2 Info Day is important because it addresses topics relevant to our organization, such as food security, sustainable agriculture and forestry, marine and inland water research, and the bioeconomy. The day was opened by Marciej Gorka, Head of Department at the Research Executive Agency.

At midday, the parallel sessions, specialized conferences, took place. EuroFUE-UJI focused on the "Rural Renaissance." That same afternoon, we had the opportunity to meet with Pacôme Elouna Eyenga, director of the European Innovation Partnership for Productive and Sustainable Agriculture (EIP-AGRI), to discuss the importance the Commission attaches to the bioeconomy and the circular economy in the agri-food sector. We were also invited to participate in the working group on the circular economy in the agricultural sector.

The next day, we attended the KET-B Brokerage Event, an event that aims to find partners for the 2019 H2020 calls for Societal Challenge 2 and Key Eynabling Technology 'Biotechnology' (KET-B). That day also took place the Flash presentation which we were able to attend within a specific topic: Rural ReinassanceThis day was important because we had the opportunity to have private meetings (bilateral meetings) with different potential partners to discuss issues of mutual interest.

As a result, many organizations showed interest in participating in projects jointly with the UJI, since in total we had fourteen meetingsAmong those interested we highlight Boris Mannhardt, CEO of Biocom AG; Pawel Zylka, Sustainability Consultant at CSCP (Collaborating Center for Sustainable Consumption and Production) and Kasia Kowalska, President of AgroBioCluster.
