The FUE-UJI participates in a European project led by the Energy Technology Institute on electric mobility in the tourism sector. This project, called Electro Mobility in Tourism, is funded by the Climate-KIC, the European Union's main initiative on climate change. The project, scheduled to launch in January 2018, will study business models that promote the use of electric vehicles in tourist areas of Spain and Italy, with the goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
The Valencia Port Foundation and the Institute of Biometeorology (IBIMET) are partners in this European project, which will also address the growing demand for new business opportunities and new services in the tourism sector, with the incorporation of electric vehicles in guided tours and car rental companies, among others.
