The Erasmus+ UJI Conference affects internationalization and European financing

The Universitat Jaume I has celebrated the Erasmus+ Day on February 13 at the Faculty of Health Sciences of the UJI. The Conference, organized by the UJI with the collaboration of the FUE-UJI, has brought together researchers from the UJI, foundations, municipalities, associations and institutions from across the province of Castellón. All of them interested in presenting project proposals in future calls of the Erasmus+ Program of European funding.

The day, inaugurated by the rector of the Universitat Jaume I, Eva Alcon, has counted, as national experts in the Erasmus+ program, with the participation of the SEPIE, National Agency for the management, dissemination and promotion of the Erasmus+ program of the European Union in the field of Education and Training.

Driven by the Vice-rectorate for Internationalization and Cooperation of the Universitat Jaume I, the Erasmus+ Day has encouraged university and provincial groups to participate in the Erasmus+ calls. Likewise, the conference has made available to attendees all the necessary tools for the preparation of proposals and has offered the main keys for the preparation of project proposals with the greatest guarantees of success.

During the day, Eva Camacho, deputy vice-rector for Internationalization and Cooperation, presented the participation of the UJI in the Key Actions KA1 of the Erasmus+ program for student mobility, PDI and PAS. From SEPIE, Miguel Ángel Serna, technical advisor of the School Education and Adults Unit, has presented the Erasmus+ program, focusing on Key Action KA2: Cooperation for innovation and exchange of good practices. Special attention has also been given during the day to the importance of forming a good international consortium, as explained with practical examples by Nela Gómez, head of the EuroFUE-UJI.

Finally, the Conference has been the perfect occasion for the presentation of success stories of the UJI in the Erasmus+ calls, such as On Train, presented by Professor Roger Esteller and the Coordinator of the University for the Elderly Pilar Escuder. On Train aims to develop educational material aimed at adult trainers, to make online teaching a social and collaborative space.

EO4GEO It has also been presented at the Erasmus+ Conference, led by University Professor, Languages and Computer Systems Joaquín Huerta. Its main objective focuses on reducing the specialized knowledge gap between the supply and demand of education and training in the space and geospatial sectors, promoting the use and integration of spatial and geospatial data and services in a wide variety of application areas. .

The FUE-UJI has also presented one of the Erasmus+ projects coordinated by the European and International Projects Office, Ecoblue Tourism. Anna Tolosa, Project Manager of Ecoblue Tourism, explained the objectives of the project, among which is to increase entrepreneurship opportunities among long-term unemployed young people in blue ecotourism in coastal countries.

The vice-rector for Internationalization and Cooperation of the Universitat Jaume I, Joan Martín, has closed the Erasmus+ Day thanking the speakers and attendees for their participation and emphasizing the need to continue working on the path of internationalization from the university level. The UJI Erasmus+ Day took place as an action framed in the UJI internationalization strategy, which structures four main axes: people, studies, research and the international positioning of the Universitat Jaume I of Castelló.
