The office manager Eurofue of European projects, Nela Gomez, recently held a meeting with Fredy Pacheco, coordinator of international cooperation projects of the Foundation for Social and Community Development of La Guajira, Colombia (FUNDESOL) to promote projects that enable sustainable development in Colombia.
The main objective of the meeting was to define strategic project lines that would allow the Universitat Jaume I-Empresa Foundation to contribute, through its contacts with UJI research groups and with the support of the EU, to carry out concrete actions that will help achieve the sustainable development goals in Colombia.
Among the intervention areas in Colombia, the department of La Guajira was mentioned. It is located in the extreme northeast of the country, in the Caribbean region. La Guajira is the Colombian department with some of the worst social development indices.
The Universitat Jaume I-Company Foundation Through its knowledge of the scientific and technological activity and production of the research groups at the Universitat Jaume I and its experience in managing transnational projects, it seeks to address sustainable development challenges that will improve living conditions in Colombia.
