The FUNICE project, in which the FUE-UJI participates as a partner, has been one of the projects approved by the European Commission in the framework of the Erasmus+ programme in the modality «Strategic Partnerships for Vocational and Educational Training». This project will be coordinated by the Association de Développement Rural International du Bas Segala from France.
FUNICE, which aims to reduce the gap between research and farmers in order to improve their training in organic agriculture, has 6 other international partners in addition to its coordinator. The partner organisations of the project are the Fundación Universitat Jaume I-Empresa (Spain), Growth Coop (Spain), the municipality of Karesi (Turkey), the University of Balikesir (Turkey), Association ARID (Poland) and the Institute of Plant Breeding and Acclimatization of Grodkowice (Poland).
All partners in the consortium will work together over the next two years to train agricultural professionals in sustainability and the use of organic components in production. They will also be trained in reducing the use of fertilisers and pesticides.
