The EuroFUE-UJI participates in the Debate on Europe

The EuroFUE-UJI participated in the DEBATE DAY WITH CITIZENS: THE FUTURE OF EUROPE AND THE COHESION POLICY OF THE EUROPEAN UNION last Wednesday, March 28 at the Consell Delegation (Casa dels Caragols) in Castellón. 

The General Directorate of Financing and European Funds (Department of Finance and Economic Model), in collaboration with the General Directorate of Relations with the European Union and the State (Presidency of the Generalitat) organized a debate with the aim of reflecting on the future of Europe and cohesion policy.

The day was inaugurated by the general director of Financing and European Funds, Andreu Iranzo, who announced the creation of the Europe +20 Observatory of the Generalitat, a strategic body to anticipate European decisions on project financing.

"The launch of this initiative will allow us to analyze how the negotiations evolve to facilitate decision-making," Iranzo highlighted.

Next, Joan Calabuig Rull, delegate for the European Union and External Relations of the Generalitat Valenciana (Alternate Member of the Committee of the Regions), spoke about the need to defend cohesion policies "to the maximum" in the face of the new horizon. 2020 in the European Union, because they are the main funds that serve to improve the competitiveness of companies and the quality of life and develop a more sustainable future with the transformation of the production model and connectivity with Europe. Next, Daria Terradez, General Director of Relations with the European Union and the State, who placed special emphasis on the fact that rights must have guarantees to be real rights. Subsequently, Inmaculada Carda, General Director of Social Inclusion, claimed the need to improve communication between Europe and citizens. To conclude the first part of the day, Arturo León López, General Secretary CC.OO.PV and Mariam Camarero, Professor of Applied Economics and holder of the Jean Monnet Ad Personam Chair at the Universitat Jaume I of Castellón, spoke, who discussed the importance of the social economy of the EU for the member states

In the second part, topics such as some specific instruments were discussed together with the Cohesion Policy. Julio Sanchis, Head of the Analysis and Technical Support Service for Operational Programs, General Directorate of Financing and European Funds, started, and was followed by Raul Ferrer Azpeleta and Sandra Palomo Guarinos CASDA, Third Sector Entity, beneficiary of ESF PO CV 2014-2020 Aid. . Next, José Manuel Santaursula Sala, Head of the Castellón Public Works Territorial Service, who is FEDER PO CV 2014-2020 Grant Manager, intervened. To conclude the second part, Nela Gómez from the Universitat Jaume I – Empresa Foundation presented the work of Eurofue in the management, writing and implementation of European programs, as well as personalized support in the search for financing through European programs and funds. and international, and the organization of training seminars and information days, among other services.

Finally, Mónica Oltra, Vice President and Councilor for Equality and Inclusive Policies, closed the day by emphasizing the importance of a strong and efficient European cohesion policy beyond 2020.
